Fundraisers get in swing

Organisers are celebrating after two golf days raised more than £1,500 for a children’s charity.

Howarth Timber and Building Supplies held events in Rotherham and Manchester to raise money for the firm’s charity partner, Caudwell Children.

More than 90 customers, suppliers and staff turned out to support the fundraising effort, with Life On Mars actor Dean Andrews also making an appearance.

Phil Barman, from Howarth Timber, said: “We are delighted the entire business has been so enthused from the very outset in a bid to raise as much money as possible for such a worthwhile cause.”

Howarth Timber is running a three-year partnership with Caudwell Children, which provides support services for disabled children and their families across the UK.

Staff have lent their support through fundraising activities including dress down days, coffee mornings and a Three Peaks walk, as well as darts and cricket tournaments.
