Four fire crews were called out to deal with a blaze which took hold at a flat in Sheffield.

The fire broke out in a ground floor flat on the corner of William Street and Exeter Drive in Broomhall, at just before 7.50pm last night (Friday).

The property was unoccupied at the time.

Crews from Mansfield Road, Darnall, Elm Lane and Rivelin stations went to the scene and William Street was closed by police while the flames were extinguished.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
