Natasha Harrison gets busy in the garden

GREEN-fingered tot Natasha Harrison, aged three, got her hands dirty when she took part in a gardening session in Rotherham.

The youngster, one of the ‘V’ Kids, from Rawmarsh Community School, joined staff from Groundwork Dearne Valley and volunteers from the High Street Centre, to give St Nicolas Walk in Rawmarsh a makeover by installing planters.

Heather Sutherland from High Street Centre said: “The planting at St Nicolas Walk was a successful event, bringing all generations of the community together for a positive activity.

“Due to the location of the event it was also witnessed by many passers-by who commented on how nice it was to see young people participating in such an activity.”

The project took place thanks to funding from Wentworth South Area Assembly.

The volunteers kept their energy levels boosted by refreshments which were provided by members of Rawmarsh TARA.

Linda Sales from the TARA said: “We would like to thank all the helpers, young and old and Elise Munby, from Groundwork Dearne Valley, for making the planting at St Nicolas Walk a very fun and enjoyable day.”
