‘Emma meant the world to us’

Four-year-old Emma Lifsey, who has tragically died after the car she was travelling in was hit by a train.

A DEVASTATED couple were today trying to come to terms with the loss of their four-year-old daughter after a horrific collision involving a car and a train.

Emma Lifsey died at Sheffield Children’s Hospital despite the efforts of doctors to save her after she was airlifted there on Tuesday afternoon.

She was a passenger in a car which was struck by a train on a level crossing between Finningley and Westwoodside.

Her devastated mum and dad, Mark and Zoe Lifsey, aged 40 and 38 and from Haxey, have spoken of their devastation at their loss.

The said in a joint statement: “Emma meant the world to us.”
