Doncaster pedestrian seriously injured in collision

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a car in the early hours of today.

The 19-year-old man was hit outside the Druids public house, High Street, Bentley, Doncaster, at around 2.30am.

South Yorkshire Police said the black Ford Fiesta involved was travelling towards the centre of Bentley at the time of the collision.

Officers do not know why the pedestrian was in the road and want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision.

The man is being treated in the Northern General Hospital.

Police said the Fiesta driver, also 19, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated taking without consent, failing to stop and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
