Doncaster drugs gang put behind bars

Scales of Justice

Scales of Justice

EIGHT Doncaster men have been jailed for more than 30 years for their roles in dealing and supplying a significant quantity of Class A drugs in the town centre last year.

The crooks were part of a gang from Doncaster and London who received between three and nine years in prison at Sheffield Crown Court. Nine men were convicted of supplying drugs, four of conspiracy to supply, and one for being concerned in the supply.

The case was the result of a 15-month police investigation to take drugs off the streets and identify those responsible.

Detectives trawled through over 60 separate incidents about drug transactions as part of the inquiry, and the men were arrested after warrants were executed and properties raided over two days last May.

More than £15,000 in cash, half a kilo of crack cocaine, and half a kilo of heroin, with a combined street value of around £40,000, were seized during the operation which involved a variety of covert tactics.

South Yorkshire Police had support from local businesses and partner agencies, including the Metropolitan Police, to assist with arrests of men on their patch, as well as three men, involved in organised crime in London, who were arrested in Doncaster where they had travelled to deal drugs.

The Doncaster men are Mark Boulby, aged 46, of Basil Avenue, Armthorpe, jailed for six years; Michael Crank, 36, of Wells Road, Wheatley, and Michael Siddall, 44, of High Street, Bentley, each jailed for four years and six months; David Powney, 34, of Goodison Boulevard, Cantley, jailed for four years and four months; Andrew Timmons, 31, of Dukes Crescent, Edlington, four years; Kenneth Boulby, 47, of Palm Avenue, Armthorpe, three years and nine months; and Simon Wilson, 42, of Mill Street, Armthorpe, and Richard Greenfield, 33, of Laughton Road, Hexthorpe, each jailed for three years.

The three London men were jailed for nine years, eight years, and six years and nine months.
