A GROUP of adventurous charity supporters scaled Snowdon to raise over £9,000 for Sheffield’s Children’s Hospital Charity.

A team of almost 50 made it to the 3,560ft summit of the highest mountain in Wales.

Simon Morritt, chief executive of Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, was among those who made it to the top.

He said: “It was a wonderful experience to climb Snowdon with my colleagues and so many people supporting the charity and trust.

“Everyone who took part was in great spirits and we had a fantastic day.”

Simon was joined by executive director of human resources Steve Ned, who said: “It was a great way to raise vital funds to support the work of our dedicated staff and keep fit at the same time.”

David Vernon-Edwards, charity director said: “These events are challenging because we want to reflect the challenges our staff face every day.”
