Diocese meets in Warmsworth

The Sheffield Diocesan Synod will be meeting in Doncaster on Saturday to discuss this week’s General Synod gathering in Westminster.

The clergy and laity will also be electing the Vice-Presidents of the Diocesan Synod for the next three-year term at the meeting in St Peter’s Church, Warmsworth.

Chairs for the elections are the Bishop of Doncaster, Peter Burrows for the House of Laity and Diocesan Secretary, Mr Malcolm Fair for the House of Clergy.

The Bishop of Sheffield, Dr Steven Croft, will also deliver a presidential address to the diocese in which he is expected to consider the outcome of the General Synod’s debate on women bishops.

Archdeacons will have the opportunity to report back to Synod on the recent Autumn Deanery Evenings which took place across the Diocese.
