Digger stolen from Doncaster crossing

Train

Train

Railway police are trying to trace a mini digger which was stolen from a Doncaster railway crossing more than a week ago.

It was stolen from Station Road in Askern on Saturday, March 9.

Det Sgt Paul Kazimierczyk, of British Transport Police, said: “The digger was stolen from the crossing sometime between 5am and 5.15am. We believe a vehicle was used to transport it away from the scene in the direction of Whitley Bridge.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the theft, or who may have any information about the whereabouts of the digger to contact us. I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been offered this vehicle for sale in suspicious circumstances to come forward in strict confidence.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 quoting log 159 of 09/03/2013 or via text on 61016. Alternatively, call the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
