Detectives are continuing to hunt a killer who attacked a man on a night out in Sheffield.

Anowar Tagabo, aged 25, was in Sheffield for a wedding and had met a friend for a night out in the city centre when he was attacked on Carver Street.

Police said CCTV footage captured the moment Anowar was attacked and fell to the ground.

He suffered a serious head injury and died in hospital nine days later.

Detectives are trying to trace a group of men and women Anowar became involved in an argument with before he was attacked.

They do not yet know the reason why words were exchanged before the attack but say CCTV cameras captured a number of people in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident.

They are trying to trace everyone on the footage to piece together the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Anowar was assaulted in May 25 and died in hospital on June 3.

He was a student at the University of Bradford.

A spokesman said: “We are extremely saddened to hear of the death.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
