Days of action arrests by police

FIVE arrests were made by police in a two days of action aimed at cracking down on crime in north Nottinghamshire.

A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with receiving stolen goods, after a search at an address in Shrewsbury Road, Worksop.

And a search at the King Edward VII pub in Ryton Street, Worksop, ended in a 30-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft at two Worksop pubs in December. A 33-year-old man was also arrested for possession of Class A drugs.

Two woman, aged 22 and 41, wanted by police for failing to appear in court, were also detained.

As part of the crackdown, Nottinghamshire Police, Bassetlaw District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council and Customs and Excise set up roadside checks off the A57 looking for scrap carriers to check they were not moving stolen goods.
