Crews called to two bin blazes

FIRE crews were kept busy across the Bonfire Night weekend in Doncaster - but the fires they had to deal with were malicious rather than fun.

Officers from Doncaster Fire Station were first called out to a property on Thorne Road, Wheatley at around 4pm on Sunday when a bin was set ablaze.

The damage caused was thought to be minor and crews spent a short time at the scene damping down.

However, they were back on the road again just a couple of hours later after calls of another bin blaze in the same area.

This time officers attended at an address in Clifton Crescent, Wheatley Hills after reports of a wheelie bin being torched at 6pm on Sunday.

Both are believed to be deliberate.
