A crackdown on motorists who abuse bus lanes launches in Sheffield this week.
Cameras are being used to catch drivers ignoring the rules of the road in problem areas including South Lane and Broad Street.
Sheffield Council officers will initially issue warning notices to the majority of offenders, but some fines will be dished out to those who are caught on Granville Road, Charter Row, Fitzwilliam Gate and Spital Hill.
The drive comes ahead of the introduction of full enforcement in April.
Coun Leigh Bramall, Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for highways, said: “We have found that bringing in enforcement significantly reduces the number of people who illegally use bus lanes or gates.”
