A charity which supports people with autism, learning disabilities and other complex needs will be providing refreshments at Sheffield Castle parkrun.

Volunteers at Autism Plus will be giving runners refreshments including drinks and health snack bars in return for a donation on June 21.

The event is part of the charity’s work to celebrate Learning Disability Week.

There will also be a donation station where people can drop off any unwanted items such as clothes, toys and books.

Mel Russell, fundraiser at Autism Plus, said: “It’s a great opportunity to be able to raise awareness and funds for young people and adults with autism and learning disabilities in the local community.”

The 5km run takes place every Saturday at Manor Fields Park, City Road, from 9am.
