a CANTLEY man who falsely claimed he was robbed at knifepoint has been given a police caution and ordered to pay £150 for the release of his car which was seized during the inquiry.
The man told police he was forced to drive to a filling station and use his credit card to buy petrol for the ‘driver’ of another car but later admitted he had made a false report.
Officers found the allegation to be unsubstantiated and he was arrested.
