A ‘vulnerable’ burglar broke into the Sheffield house where a man with learning difficulties was kept as a slave and brutally beaten by three members of the same family.

Cameron Lancaster, aged 22, was walking away from the house on Halifax Road, Parson Cross, with a trolley bag and suitcase containing his haul when he was confronted by homeowner Donna Rooke.

Sheffield Crown Court was told Rooke moved out of the boarded-up property after serving a four-month jail term for battery.
