BREAKING: Serious injuries in Doncaster lorry crash

A driver was flown to hospital by air ambulance after three lorries crashed on a Doncaster motorway.

The north-bound carriageway of the A1 between Blyth and Wadworth remains closed, as police work to clear debris from the site of the collision.

The collision occurred about 2pm and one of the casualties, described as ‘serious’, was not released by South Yorkshire and Notts fire crews until just before 3.30pm.

He was taken to the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.
