A MAN has been arrested in connection with the death of a dog which was allegedly tortured and burned to death in Sheffield.
Officers investigating the incident last night arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
There was outcry after The Star revealed the sandy-coloured Staffordshire terrier had been beaten, tied to a tree, had its legs broken and was then set alight.
The pet was found on Manor Laith Road, Skye Edge, on Saturday.
