Breaking news: Man dies in M18 collision near Doncaster

NEWS: News.

NEWS: News.

A MAN has died following a rush hour multi-vehicle collision on the M18 this morning.

Police believe the man, who is thought to be in his 50s, had got out of his vehicle after he was involved in a collision on the southbound carriageway between junctions two and four.

He was then hit by another vehicle or vehicles travelling in an adjoining lane, suffering fatal injuries in the incident just after 7am.

A number of other vehicles then collided as a result.

Emergency services are still dealing with the incident.

The M18 southbound remains closed between junction 4 and junction 2. Other surrounding roads have reopened but are heavily congested.

Officers dealing with the collision urge motorists to find an alternative route. It is expected that the carriageway will be closed for several hours.
