Blaze traps five people in Sheffield building

Five people were rescued from a building in Sheffield this morning after a fire in a bin store trapped them inside.

Fire crews from Elm Lane station, assisted by Rivelin station, were called to the blaze at about 3am.

The fire at the bin store of a property in Milnrow View, Parson Cross, meant those inside could not leave the building.

Crews extinguished the fire and the residents were treated for smoke inhalation.

Noone was thought to be seriously hurt.
