Barnsley MP Michael Dugher said he hopes the arsonist or culprits responsible for a blaze at a huge fashion warehouse get ‘dealt with severely’.
He spoke out after online clothing firm ASOS, which has a distribution centre in Grimethorpe, revealed that a fire on Friday night caused £22 million worth of damage.
The blaze is believed to have been started deliberately.
Mr Dugher said: “The police are currently treating the fire at ASOS as arson. If this is the case, those responsible must be dealt with severely. They must be caught and face the full consequences of their actions.
“Those responsible endangered the lives hundreds of local ASOS workers, caused a loss of business and an estimated £22 million of damage to an important local business.”
