Police say they are taking no further action after being called to a St Leger Day brawl outside a well-known Doncaster restaurant.
Customers at Zinis Italian restaurant and bar in Bawtry Market Place were shocked by the sudden outbreak of violence on Saturday evening and some left the premises to avoid the trouble.
The fight involved about 10 men who are believed to have been to the races and it spilled to an outside area of the premises.
Door staff intervened and tried to break up the fight before police arrived.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers were called to a restaurant at Market Place, Bawtry, just after 9.30pm on Saturday, September 14, following a report of around 10 males fighting outside.
“The men, who were pushing and shoving each other, had been ejected by door staff after fighting in the rear courtyard of the premises.
“The case was closed after it emerged that it had been a dispute among friends who’d attended the races and no offences had been committed.”
Police vehicles continued to patrol the centre of Bawtry for the rest of Saturday evening to ensure there was no further trouble.
