AN ARMED robber escaped with £4,000 in cash after holding up a bookmakers in Rotherham.
The culprit struck at Betfred on Muglet Lane, Maltby, at 7.35pm on Thursday.
A member of staff was counting the cash in the shop when two men entered.
One of the men, who was wearing a black balaclava and carrying a weapon, kicked down the door to the counter where the woman was working and ordered her to fill a bag he was carrying with money.
The other stood guard at the door.
Witnesses, or anyone with information about the incident or the robbers involved, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 998 of January 10.
