Litter louts have been warned to use the bin or face the courts following six prosecutions.

Magistrates handed out fines and charges totalling nearly £1,700 following prosecutions by the Rotherham Council for littering.

Donna Lewis, of Red Hill Avenue, Barnsley; Becky Meggitt of Rawmarsh Hill, Parkgate; and Adam Burgin of South Vale Drive, Thrybergh; were found guilty of littering and each fined £175 and ordered to pay £180 costs.

Ben West of Preston Road, Rainworth, who was also found guilty in his absence, was fined £105 and £180 costs.

Diana Deveaux, of Gloucester Road, Kimberworth Park, was fined £35 and £25 costs, and Daniella Moskwa of Eastfield Place, Rawmarsh, fined £80 and £180 costs, after both pleaded guilty.
