FUNDING has helped an entrepreneur revamp a listed town centre building which he has now opened as a gifts and antiques centre.
Businessman Chris Hamby has launched the venture at premises on High Street, Rotherham, where he used to run a shoe and handbag shop which has been moved down the road.
Chris secured £250,000, partly from Rotherham Council, backed by the Heritage Lottery Fund, to renovate the antiques centre.
Chris also received advice from Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber’s Regional Enterprise Programme.
He said: “I felt the traditional store on High Street lent itself to a gifts and antiques centre, which I am very excited to have opened. We stock our own gifts and antiques belonging to other dealers.”
