Lionel Richie's love affair with the UK continues as he announces live show at Sheffield Arena in 2016.
International superstar Lionel Richie will return to the UK in 2016 to perform at the Sheffield Arena on June 22. He has also announced a series of open air concerts in parts of the UK he’s never visited before. The ‘All The Hits’ Tour will also visit St Austell, Swansea, Colwyn Bay, Colchester and Gloucester. These dates follow the recent announcement of arena shows in Manchester and London.
Performing ‘All The Hits’ from his extensive and much loved repertoire spanning decades, all the way from the Commodores to the present day. Lionel’s shows are world renowned for their party atmosphere and audiences will be able to join Lionel in singing along to classics such as ‘Hello’, ‘Easy’, ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’, ‘Say You Say Me’ and ‘All Night Long’.
“I had such a great time in the UK this year and I can’t wait to visit new places and meet new people. Performing at Glastonbury for the first time was such a thrill for me and given me an appetite to do new things in the UK. I know these shows are going to be very spe-cial.”
The UK fell back in love with Lionel last year following a tour that received glittering re-views and culminated in a phenomenal Glastonbury performance. After drawing the big-gest crowd of the weekend with over 100,000 people flocking to the Pyramid Stage, Li-onel’s album ‘The Definitive Collection’ reached Number One on the UK album charts for the first time in 23 years.
Lionel went on to receive British GQ’s Icon Award adding to a celebrated career which includes four GRAMMYs, a Golden Globe and even an Oscar. Having sold over 100 million albums worldwide and Lionel shows no signs of slowing down.
Tickets for the Sheffield date go on general sale at 10am on Friday, December 4.
