Residents on a Sheffield street say they are suffering parking problems after their road was resurfaced - but markings have still not been replaced a month on.

Brett Bentley, of Edmund Road, Highfield, near Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground, said: “Because the road markings have not been done, the parking permit zone cannot be enforced. Match days are a joke for residents wanting to park.”

Mr Bentley added pavement works have yet to be completed and there are still barriers up.

Chris Morris, operations director at Sheffield Council Streets Ahead contractor Amey, said: “We apologise to the residents of Edmund Road for the inconvenience.

“We will be in the area this weekend to put the yellow and white lines back and any parking bays.

“We must leave barriers on site until the street light work is complete. We aim to do this by mid-November.”
