DAVID Higginbottom is looking forward to living life in the fast lane – after matching five numbers plus the bonus ball on the lucky dip in the national lottery.

Lucky David, from Rotherham, scooped £174,665 with his win – and has already treated himself to his dream Suzuki GSXR motorbike.

The 34-year-old is dad to a four-year-old daughter and has a new baby on the way in two months’ time, so he also plans to splash the cash on his growing family.

David found out he’d won in the draw on Saturday August 28 after checking his results on his mobile phone.

He said: “I was getting ready to go up to bed when I decided to check the Lotto results. When I realised I’d won I was in state of shock – I told my wife Donna who just didn’t believe me!

“We were both wide awake then so we decided to get in the car and head straight to our local petrol station to make sure we really had won. They confirmed we had a winning ticket and we couldn’t believe it!

“We were so excited and shocked we didn’t get to sleep until 4am in the end!”

David, a manager at Kwik Fit, and Donna, a nursery manager, also plan to pay off their mortgage and enjoy a family holiday next year – once the new addition has arrived.

“The win couldn’t have come at a better time,” said David. “I’ve just celebrated my birthday and, with a new baby on the way, the money will really help us out. I’ve also been able to buy my Suzuki motorbike, which I had already ordered before I won, but the win means I can really enjoy it now!”

David bought his lucky dip ticket from TCS Dukeries in Worksop. The winning numbers were 6, 7, 29, 32, 41, 46 and the bonus ball was 49.

Tonight’s EuroMillions draw has an estimated jackpot of £138 million and Wednesday’s Lotto draw carries an estimated jackpot of £2,200,000.
