LETTERS: Ms Baker should apologise for insults

Councillor Penny Baker makes an unwarranted and snide slur on council employees in her letter (council should think again about rent hike, March 11).

She says the council are ‘protecting the jobs of well-paid housing officers’

It may have escaped her attention as a councillor but jobs in the council have been slashed and pay freezes implemented for a number of years with more pay cuts and job losses to come.

This is as a direct result of funding to the council being slashed by the coalition Government of which her party are partners in crime.

Rent increases are a result of government cuts.

Ms Baker should apologise to the hard workers she freely insults as well as the tenants who are having their rents increased as a result of her colleagues’ policies.
