For the first time in its 900-year history St Mary’s Church in Tickhill will witness a spectacular display of light and colour on Sunday.

Immediately after the church’s Christmas Carol Service at 4pm the inside and outside of the church will be bathed in projected colour images of its own magnificent medieval and Victorian stained glass.

Residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a hot drink and other refreshments as they take in the spectacle from inside and outside the church.

The event forms part of St Mary’s Conserving the Future Heritage Appeal which is seeking to raise £70,000 to safeguard the historic stained glass and stone monuments in the church for this generation and the next.
