Learn how to save lives in free sessions

St JOHN Ambulance is offering free demonstrations of first aid skills as part of its Save a Life September campaign.

Sessions are taking place at locations in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, where people can learn easy-to-follow techniques and receive a free pocket-sized first aid guide to carry in case of emergency.

Sessions are this Saturday and Sunday at Rotherham Show in Clifton Park from 10am until 6pm; next Tuesday, September 11 at Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, Chesterfield, from 9am until 4.30pm; and at The Pavements Shopping Centre in Chesterfield, every Thursday and Friday throughout September between 10am and 3pm.

Andrew Feely, district manager for St John Ambulance, said: “Learning first aid is one of the single most important things you can do in your life. You never know when you may need it – at work, at home, in school, playing sport.

“With basic first aid skills, anyone can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved and what could be more important than saving someone’s life?”
