SHEFFIELD-based campaigners opposing cuts to legal aid have welcomed support from national members of the Green Party.
Members of the party voted at their Sheffield conference to back the Justice For All campaign to preserve free legal advice.
The campaign opposes Government plans to cut legal aid for advice on areas including employment law, welfare benefits, debt, housing, family matters, immigration and education.
Sheffield Green Party and Sheffield Justice For All member Carita Thomas said: “We all know people who can’t afford legal advice, maybe because they have a family and too many bills to pay.
“But bad times come to everyone and legal aid is essential to help people in crisis.”
