OWNERS of a Sheffield bar are applying for extra hours to compete with surrounding venues - and staff warn that unless the plan is approved it may go out of business.
Sheffield Council’s city centre, south and east planning board will consider an application by SoYo, on Rockingham Street, to open until 1.30am Sundays to Wednesdays, and 2.30am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It currently closes at 12.30am nightly.
The bar is also applying to hold temporary events lasting up to 72 hours. Planning officers recommend refusal due to impact of late night noise on surrounding residents.
