HOUSING association Places for People which manages some social rented properties in Sheffield has scooped a national award for excellence in community investment.
The organisation, which manages more than 63,000 properties across the UK, including some in Norfolk Park, was awarded a Big Tick in the Business in the Community Awards for Excellence 2012.
It was selected for Places for People’s neighbourhood planning work, which tackles problems on housing estates.
The approach has resulted in significant improvements where issues have been addressed with the help of local businesses, contractors, community groups and residents.
Steve Mather, neighbourhoods director at Places for People said: “We are delighted to receive the award and look forward to seeing the results of our work.”
