SHOPPPING outlet Lakeside Village is toasting a bumper year after raising £50,000 for local charities.

Throughout 2012, Lakeside supported a number of charities including the British Heart foundation, Marie Curie, Thorne Rural Lions, Breast Cancer Care, Guide Dogs, Kilton Pet Rescue, Afghan Heroes, Cat Protection, RAFA, Bluebell Wood, the RSPB and Safe@Last.

Cheryl Sadler, centre manager, said: “We are thrilled to report we have not only beaten our 2011 total, but collected a staggering £20,000 more!

“On behalf of Lakeside Village and all of the charities I would like to say a big thank you.”
