DEDICATED David Braden Holmes has the potential to be a world champion in his hands.
The 11-year-old, of Eckington, is a yo-yo champion in Britain and aims to be the world’s top competitor in the unusual sport.
He beat people four times his age to be named UK Trick Ladder Champion in a national competition in Reading last year.
Now he has a chance to travel to the world championships in Florida and is just one of the entries in the sports category of Star Superkids 2012.
Proud dad Paul Holmes said: “He works so hard.
“If he makes any mistake, he will practise it out for hours and hours.
“If he goes to America to the world event he will be competing with 10- to 11-year-olds and will probably win.
“What he does is incredibly difficult.
“I’ve tried and it took me two years just to make the thing come back to me.”
David, a pupil at Marsh Lane Primary School, has recently returned from competing in Europe.
His family are looking for a sponsor to help on his path to global success.
