Mr Al-Essaie was shot in his chest in Daniel Hill, Upperthorpe, at around 1.35pm on Saturday as he arrived at a family gathering to celebrate his twin sister's engagement.

Another man was shot in his chest in Butterthwaite Road, Shiregreen, last week, but at this stage detectives do not believe the shootings to be linked.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
