CHILDREN’S television favourite Sportacus proved a big hit when he landed in Doncaster to meet young fans.

The high-kicking, all-action superhero star of CBeebies show LazyTown swapped his colourful hometown and left behind all his friends to pay a visit to Rossington Children’s Centre.

But he met up with scores of friendly new faces as children lined up to chat and have their photo taken alongside him.

Sportacus donned his famous blue costume for the visit which was organised to help local youngsters keep in shape.

LazyTown has teamed up with the Government’s healthy living initiative, Change4Life, to encourage children aged between two and five to get involved in sport and fitness through fun and games and family activities.

Youngsters learned all about healthy eating and were able to sample fresh fruit as well as taking part in a series of challenges throughout the afternoon.
