PUPILS at a Sheffield school are working together to make extra places at their lunch tables to help people around the world who do not have enough to eat.
Children at St Thomas More School, Grenoside, chose to swap their usual school lunch for a simple meal of soup and bread.
It was served up by their teachers to enable the whole school to work together to raise funds for the Catholic aid agency CAFOD’s Harvest appeal.
Rachel Wood. CAFOD local officer in Sheffield, said: “I visited the school to say thank you.
“CAFOD is inspired by the generosity of the school community, despite the hardship being faced by many families in Sheffield, people are still reaching out to help others facing severe hardship overseas.”
