Kids look on the bright side of road safety

BRIGHTLY-attired youngsters at a Sheffield children's centre dazzled with their dress sense - and raised vital charity cash.

Ellesmere Children's Centre, a 50-place child nursery on Maxwell Road, Burngreave, staged its own Wear Bright for Sight day and raised 50 for Henshaws, the leading charity for visually impaired people in the north of England.

Wear Bright for Sight encouraged people to wear their most outrageously coloured clothes to work and donate 2 toward the charity.

All staff and children at the centre donned loud and wacky colours and had a great time while learning about people with disabilities.

"The children loved the whole day. It was great to be able to mix fun with learning and support a worthwhile charity at the same time," said centre manager Sharon Curtis.
