A FOOTBALL project for youngsters in Clay Cross resumes today.
Free sessions for children aged between 10 and 17 are being held at Sharley Park Leisure Centre, Clay Cross, every Monday from 5.30pm.
They are run by police officers from the Clay Cross Safer Neighbourhood Team as part of a project to reduce anti-social behaviour in the Danesmoor area.
Since the project, funded by the council, started a year ago reports of anti-social behaviour have dropped by 25 per cent.
PC Adam Bryan, of the Clay Cross Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The football project has had a positive impact on the behaviour of youngsters in the area. It has given them something to focus on and helped us to build a rapport with them.
“We welcome youngsters of all abilities who want to take part to come along to the leisure centre for some informal games and training.”
