SHEFFIELD actor Kenny Doughty has landed himself the lead role in his home city production of The Full Monty.
Kenny, who grew up in Wortley and now lives in Los Angeles, will play Gaz in the stage adaptation of the 1997 hit comedy film at Sheffield Lyceum.
The 37-year-old has featured in a number of television programmes including Coronation Street and New Tricks, and the 1998 film Elizabeth, where he starred alongside Cate Blanchett and Daniel Craig in the 1998 film.
His most recent role was in Sky One comedy-drama Stella, created by Ruth Jones.
The show, which will be staged in Sheffield for three weeks in February, will then go on to tour the UK before ending up in the West End.
Kenny’s wife, fellow actor Caroline Carver, will play Gaz’s estranged wife Mandy.
