Sheffield’s world champion boxer Kell Brook is to run the city’s half-marathon later this month.

He will be taking on the 13.1 mile course on April 12 in aid of The Children’s Hospital Charity.

Kell, 28, said: “I am looking forward to swapping my boxing gloves for running shoes to try and raise some money for this amazing charity.

“The Children’s Hospital in Sheffield is a brilliant place and people in Sheffield are so lucky to have it on our doorstep.

“That’s why I want to support it and will do whatever I can to help.”

The boxer, who defended his title against Jo Jo Dan on Saturday, has already helped raise thousands for the charity after donating signed boxing gloves for an auction and competing in a charity boxing match last December.
