WHEN a competition winner was chosen to play Jimmy White in a charity snooker game he could hardly have expected to win.
But that’s what happened when Keith Holgate took on The Whirlwind at Crystal nightspot in Sheffield city centre to raise money for Hillsborough snooker charity The Stephen Harrison Academy, which teaches the game to children with learning difficulties.
Following a strong start by Keith, Jimmy fought back, but the frame was decided when the amateur potted the final black
Keith, who won a contest run by Sheffield firm Sherwood Truck and Van, said: “I couldn’t believe it. It was amazing to play against him but to win was a dream!”
