A TOP apprentice has scored a full-time job with her employer after completing her training.
Katie Wood, aged 20, was named the Apprentice of the Month for her hard work at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology.
She has also secured herself a full-time technical support position with IT company Pinnula on completion of her NVQ level two apprenticeship in IT.
Katie said: “I have always been interested in IT ever since turning on my first computer and my apprenticeship has got me into the industry.
“I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone who works at Pinnula and I am really pleased that they have chosen to keep me on as a full-time member of staff.”
Katie was awarded with a certificate and Meadowhall shopping vouchers for being Apprentice of the Month.
Rotherham College offers a range of apprenticeships as an alternative to university.
Christine Lant, from Pinnula, said: “Katie has become such an important member of our support team.
“She has learned so much about our products and our development processes and she discusses problems and issues confidently with our customers.
“Her manner with both customers and staff is professional.
“She is always ready with a smile – even when things get tough.”
