Jumping for joy – lads on a day out to the Theatre of Dreams

YOUNG footballers from a Sheffield housing estate were presented with trophies and treated to a day trip to Manchester United's Old Trafford ground.

Eight youngsters were rewarded after they put in the best performances and attendance at weekly football sessions at Bankwood School, Gleadless Valley.

The sessions, for children aged eight and over, ran from March until the end of the summer holidays and were organised by Sheffield Homes, Gleadless Valley Tenants and Residents Association and crime reduction charity NACRO.

Lisa Lobue, of Sheffield Homes' South West community engagement team, said: "The football sessions have been a fantastic success. We hope we can build on this achievement by running similar sessions next year."
