BARNSLEY College student Jonathan Carr is hoping for TV stardom – after being interviewed for a place on The Junior Apprentice.
The 17-year-old A-level student applied for a place on the show, judged by Sir Alan Sugar, after seeing it advertised on the college website and being encouraged by his tutor.
For his application Jonathan came up with a proposal to invest in a young students bar for under-18s in Barnsley – and he was picked from thousands of applicants for the interview.
Jonathan said; “Ten people at a time were called in for the interview then everyone got 30 seconds to sum up why we should be on the show.
“There were lots of people in my group that already had their own businesses so the competition was tough but I wasn’t that nervous, I think I’ll be more nervous if I get through to the show!”
Jonathan, who is planning to study accounting after college, is now waiting to find out if he has made it to the next round of interviews in London.
If he is successful and becomes one of the 10 finalists he will go to London for five weeks over the summer to film the show which will air later this year.
