A SHEFFIELD bus driver went the extra mile to raise funds for a children’s cancer charity close to his heart.

Jon Pitsch, who works for First, was among the thousands who joined in the Great Yorkshire Run.

He was given £1,000 by his colleagues to donate to his chosen charity, Children With Cancer.

Jon, aged 44, from Hollins Spring Road, Dronfield, completed the 10K course in an hour.

But his main challenge was to raise funds for the charity, which he has supported since the death of his 12 year old sister from leukaemia in 1976.

He said: “This money will be put to good use.”
