People who are passionate about where they live are being sought to help shape the future of their area.
Sheffield Council is appealing for council housing residents to join the newly-formed Housing and Neighbourhoods Advisory Panel to allow more tenants to have their say on a number of issues.
Potential candidates are being asked to put themselves forward to their local tenants’ and residents’ association, which will each have one representative on the panel.
The position will be put to public vote in May if there is a lot of interest.
Coun Harry Harpham, the council’s cabinet member for homes and neighbourhoods, said: “We want to attract people with fresh ideas and perspectives.
“No particular experience is needed and you don’t need to have been involved with council services previously.
“A genuine interest in housing, and passion and enthusiasm, are much more important.”
The panel will discuss, scrutinise and advise on investment programmes, business plans and performance at monthly meetings from June.
