Fundraisers with big hearts are being called on to take part in an annual Sheffield festive run for charity.
The British Heart Foundation’s Santa Dash will take place on Sunday, December 8, setting off from Tudor Square. The event is called Sheffield Chase the Pud 2013 and starts at 11am.
All funds raised go to the heart charity’s life-saving research.
Those taking part will jog two laps through the heart of the city dressed as Santa and chasing a Christmas pudding.
This year’s event is organised by BHF Sheffield Major Events Committee in partnership with Sheffield Council and BBC Radio Sheffield.
Jo Strong, event lead for the local BHF committee, said: “We are delighted to launch the Sheffield Chase the Pud 2013 challenge in support of the BHF, to raise as much money as possible to help people with heart disease.
“A selection of prizes will be awarded to children wearing the most festive costumes and a special prize will be delivered in the New Year to the person raising most sponsorship.”
The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Coun Vickie Priestley, said: “I would like to thank the BHF volunteers for taking the time to organise this important fundraising event, I’m sure it will be great fun and very successful.
